The Tavern is a lively atmospheric public house in Bridge Street serving home cooked meals all day. A gathering place for young people at the weekend it is a perfect venue during the week for the Folk Festival. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. Alisdair the landlord always puts on some locally brewed beers for the discerning drinker.
The festival is using two of the Tavern's three bars as venues during the week. The Chandlers Bar will be the scene for Lunch with a Local where visitors will be able to eat lunch and listen to some good music courtesy of some of our best North Devon performers.
The Wheels Bar is an ideal intimate concert venue which will provide a fitting stage for a week of evening concerts and a series of Meet the Artistes.
The Meet the Artiste events are very popular at Folk Festivals and audiences can get up close and ask those questions they would like answering as well as hearing some great music. The bar will be stocked with all the usual suspects plus a choice of locally produced real ales.
