Awarding Winning Beer
Jollyboat brewery produces prize-winning beers made locally in the port town of Bideford. In production since 1995 the crew brews beer using only the best quality West Country malt and mainly Herefordshire hops Jollyboat brews a range of beers from 3.7%ABV to 5.8%ABV all brewed in the traditional way.
Quality Real Ale
Within a short time of beginning production the brewery was collecting awards for the quality of its real ale and has collected trophies at the Maltings Beer Festival and at Newton Abbot, the largest festival in the South West; where Jollyboat Brewery was awarded the accolade of Supreme Champion in 1997.
At the Heart of Bideford
Set in the heart of Bideford in Buttgarden Street the brewery is very much a part of the community, sponsoring local events including Bideford Folk Festival.
The Jollyboat The brewery takes its name from the ‘jollyboat' which on sailing vessels was the crews means of transport ashore for well earned leave or for a few hours of warmth and comfort in a local tavern with a glass that cheers. Having celebrated a ten year voyage last year the Jollyboat crew will be keeping a lookout for more adventures in the next ten years.
