Stealing Sheep Stealing Sheep

Stealing sheep are a Liverpool based folk act made up of three songwriters who play an array of instruments to create folky bop music using accordion, guitar, glockenspiel, fiddle, melodica, synth and 3 part vocals.

They write quirky but beautiful songs that remind me of the Incredible String Band and the heady days of the 60's and the Underground scene that produced so many fine bands.

Their debut at the family folk up festival in late September ’08 live and unplugged in the garden of the Blue Coat saw them as support for Martin Carthy, Dave Swarbrick and John Smith introducing them to the folk scene after one month of writing and playing together.

A residency at Mello Mello (hosted by Jacques Malchance)) in Liverpool reveals a continuum of upbeat colourful live shows performed every month introducing new costumes, visuals and tricks from dancers to puppets to motion pictures.

They are with us all week, make sure you catch them.

Megan Kovacs plays accordion and violin, Gunhild Ramsay Kristoffersen plays Glockenspeil Becky Hawley plays guitar.
