CoracleCoracle

With us for the week; Coracle are an exciting young band who set the 2008 festival alight with their musicianship, energy and sheer joy for the music. Make sure you catch them this year!

They are a fine set of young musicians we saw at the St Albans Festival, New Roots Competition in 2008. Pete Coe, Eliza Carthy and Lynne Heraud gave this band lots of praise for their performance and they certainly gave the 'after competition session' a kick with their lively playing.

Coracle are a young folk trio from Somerset. They play traditional music from mainly England and the UK, As well as some of their own compositions. The Trio consists of Jon Dyer on Flute, Alex Cumming on Piano Accordion & Bouzouki, and Hannah Cumming on Fiddle.

As well as playing in Coracle Jon, Alex and Hannah also play in a young funky Ceilidh band called the Live Wires Ceilidh Band, sing in the Somerset County Youth Choir and Alex and Hannah also play together as a duo called the Folk Freaks.
