Calan

Calan got together in early 2005 after meeting two years earlier in Sweden and various sessions! They are an exciting young five piece band who are setting fire to Welsh traditional music. We have seen this band and they are very talented and a great live band.

Newly returned from representing Wales at Lorient, Calan released their debut CD - ' Bling', for Sain record label to tie in with their tour of Wales in last October, supporting one of the most sought-after proponents of Québécois musical culture, Genticorum.

Calan have gone from strength to strength since their first gig in 2006 and have worked with artists such as Sian James, Crasdant, Maartin Allcock (Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull) and Paul Burgess (10cc). Calan are set to become Wales' next big thing!

The band in their own words are Llinos Eleri Jones (The dippy one) Angharad Jenkins (The happy one) Patric Rimes (The youngest - yet tallest) Bethan Rhiannon (The ginger one) Chris Ap Alan (The oldest yet smallest). They play a variety of instruments which give them that great Celtic feel to their music - don't miss them!

Ffurfiwyd Calan ar ddechrau 2005 ar ol cwrdd yn Sweden a nifer o sesiynnau dwy flynedd yn gynharach! Mae Calan yn fand cyffrous o bum aelod sydd am roi cerddoriaeth draddodiadol Gymreig ar dân. Maent newydd ddychwelyd o Lorient, lle roeddent yn cynrychioli Cymru, a mae'r band wedi rhyddhau eu CD cyntaf - Bling, gyda Sain i gyd-fynd â’i daith o Gymru yn cefnogi lladmeryddion mwyaf poblogaidd diwylliant cerddorol Québec, Genticorum. Mae Calan wedi cael llwyddiant enfawr ers chwarau eu gig cyntaf yn 2006 a wedi gweithio gyda artistiaid arbennig yn cynnwys Sian James, Crasdant, Maartin Allcock (Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull) a Paul Burgess (10cc). Mae Calan yn gweithio'n galed i ddod yn band mawr nesaf Cymru!
