The Maybelles - from the USA

The Maybelles are a very talented trio from the USA, another 'don't miss act!'
The Maybelles

The Maybelles first took the stage together when Melissa Carper and Jan Bell met on the streets of Eureka Springs, AR - and then took their songs to the Walnut Valley Folk Festival, Winfield Kansas.
There they met up with Mike West, who invited them to come down to his ninth ward pickin' parlor in New orleans, and record an album. that resulted in a Celtic/Appalachian collection of originals and traditionals called 'Songs for My Baby'., which made the Top Ten list of folk albums in the Village Voice.

That summer, they went up to play  Jan's old neighborhood, in NYC.
Down by the Brooklyn Bridge the Little Red Hen Music's Urban Cowgirl Cabaret featured country bands on the back of a '64 Ford pick up truck playing tribute shows to their honky tonk heroes – Hank Williams,  Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash. There they teamed up with fiery fiddler Katy Rose Cox. Three part harmony, and high energy originals made for a lively show, alongside rare pearls, old time roots tunes, and soulful country classics.

The Maybelles have had the honor of opening for several living legends. In Eureka Springs, they opened for Emmylou Harris; and joined Mary Fly when she opened for Ray Charles and his Orchestra. Back up in New York City they tracked down one of their heroes - Wanda Jackson, who was in Oklahoma City, set up a show, and opened for her.
