Ian Briggs began playing the harmonica at the age of fourteen. inspired to start playing blues harmonica when he heard Cyril Davies playing with Alexis Korner during the early sixties. He went on to play with various bands over the years and despite earning my main source of income outside the music industry, has always maintained a strong interest in the music. Ian has been a full-time professional player since 2001.

Recent work has included playing with Michael Roach which was an enjoyable partnership, and led to gigs in the UK, Ireland and Europe and featuring on two two Michael Roach albums. Another collaboration was with singer/songwriter Maurice Dickson from Lisburn in Northern Ireland, playing three albums and making a DVD prior to a tour.

Ian has been working recently with Jim Crawford making a CD and playing gigs together.
