Musicians and singers will get something from all these workshops!

Tuesday 15th August: 2-4pm 

Spicing It Up’  --   with Baz Bix and Chloe Watson

Baz and Chloe will be playing a short set to kick off and then showing how you can take a new or standard song and make it your own. 

Wednesday 16th August 2-4pm

‘Getting the Groove’ --  with  Nick Wyke & Becki Driscoll

Playing and arranging tunes with rhythm and style. Techniques for playing with ‘groove’ using simple tunes. Body percussion and rhythm skills – Arranging for bands – Sounds very interesting 

Thursday 17th August 2-4pm

‘Singing in Harmony’ --  with Emma Heath

A fun, singing-workshop that will raise the roof. No need to be able to read music - musicians and singers will enjoy this one

Friday 18th August 2-4pm

‘Performance Skills Surgery’ – with Nick Wyke & Becki Driscoll

A professional approach to performance: A short discussion and handouts on preparation for gigs. Techniques for interacting with the audience and coping with Stage fright! Open surgery on all aspects of performance. 

(Wednesday and Friday Workshops will involve a small amount of theoretical work. The emphasis for both will be on practical performance. Participants will need to provide their own instruments. Music reading ability will not be required at any of the work)

All workshops cost just £1.00 per session. Refreshments will be available.

There will be a refreshment break during every workshop.

How to get there

The nearest bus stop and car park are in East the Water on the main road to Barnstaple. All buses going to and from Bideford to Barnstaple stop there. The bus stop is outside the Public Car Park. Walk back to the mini roundabout by the Royal Hotel and it is the building next to the Royal Hotel car park.

If you are arriving from somewhere else all buses stop at the Quay in Bideford. It is a 3-minute walk from Bideford across the Old Bridge walking towards the Royal Hotel then turn right at the mini roundabout. The Bethel is the first building on the left.  See map on website or in the programme
