Car/Bicycle
Bideford lies on the River Torridge in Devon . By car take the M5 or the A303 towards Exeter and then take Junction 27 off the M5. Take the A361 to Barnstaple and then the A39 to Bideford, crossing the bridge and turning left into Bideford at the Northam roundabout heading for the Town Centre. If you are coming from the A38 Plymouth, take the A386, Tavistock, Hatherleigh, Great Torrington for a picturesque and straightforward journey, which brings you in into Bideford alongside the Torridge River with views of our twenty three arch bridge. |
Train
If you are coming by train; the nearest station is at Barnstaple after changing at Exeter. Barnstaple is eleven miles from Bideford. There is a regular bus service from Barnstaple station which will bring you into the quay at Bideford. Not all buses call at the station, the safe bet 'stop' is to walk diagonally left out of the station, up the steps in the corner of the car park and turn right towards the town. The bus stop is thirty yards down.
If you are traveling by Taxi from Barnstaple ; Bideford taxis are cheaper than Barnstaple Taxis so if you don't mind waiting for a while to save a couple of £s here are a couple of Bideford taxi numbers. Fares will probably be in the region of £11-13.00

Coach
If you are coming by foot; then for a hassle free journey use National Express (www.nationalexpress.com), the coach will drop you on the quay at Bideford before it carries on to its final stop at Westward Ho! three miles away.
Sea and Air If you are coming by air, the nearest airport is Exeter . If you come by sea, do you know I haven't a clue but you probably will.
